Illustrated with 2 original black and white etchings and 46 pochoir prints in color of which 14 are double-page, by Dunoyer de Segonzac, based on his visits to Saint Tropez in the years between the two wars. This charming mix-media work celebrates the carefree life of St. Tropez with the colorful pochoir images of brilliant beaches and the casual life sur la plage. It expresses, as well, a certain nostalgia for youth in the eye of the author upon seeing the "nus grillés au soleil sur le sable brûlant." The two etchings were done directly on the copper plates: one is a self portrait of the artist, the other, entitled Ponche at Saint-Tropez, pictures a boat landing and landscape.
