Biography

July 7, 1884 Andre is born at Boussy Saint Antoine (Seine & Oise) in France
  He studies at Parisian schools Louis Le Grand and Henri IV
1900 Passes Baccalaureat
  Begins to go to classes at Ecole des Beaux-Arts as unregistered student
1900 - 1907 Frequents private studies of artists such as Luc-Olivier Merson and Jean-Paul Laurens
  Fails entrance exam of Ecole des Beaux-Arts
  Military service
  Becomes friend of young artists J-L Boussingault, Maissieux and Luc-Albert Moreau
1907 - 1908 Rents his first private study with Boussingault at 34, rue Saint Andre des Arts
  Goes to private academy La Palette where Charles Guerin, Jacques-Emile Blanche and Desvallieres teach
1908 First trip (with Boussingault and L.A. Moreau) to Saint Tropez, famous French Riviera village that became top resort in the 1960's
  Meets P. Signac
  First paintings exposed at the Salon d'Automne: 619, Etude de Nu; 620, Tartanes and 621, Tartanes
1909 First paintings sent to the Independants: 535, Nature Morte; 536, Etude de Nu
1910 First exhibition at the Independants: 1618, Panneau Decoratif; 1619, Etude de Nu
  First exhibition at the Salon d'Automne: Un Cabaret, bought by Paul Poiret. They became friends. At Poiret's, ADdS meets
  Max Jacob, Dufy, Vlaminck and many others
  Publishing of Isadora Duncan booklet and also Sheherazade which contains 24 drawings about a Russian ballet
