| 1940 | Captain, fights in Flandres with his tank squadron. Is sent to Colonel de Gaulle's HQ. Made Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur à titre exceptionnel. After the Armistice, ask for leave of absence. Create and manage the 'Ecole Nationale des Cadres d'Uriage (4.000 students in two years). | |

| December 15, 1942 | Revoqued by Vichy government. The Uriage school is closed. | |

|
Enters clandestine world. Creates the "Flying Teams" for civic instruction in the maquis with ex-team from Uriage. Spring 1943 : Goes to Alger and meets General de Gaulle. Comes back to France in a submarine via Barcelone. At Castelnaudary, is picked up by Guy de Rouville. Plans the future for D Day. Goes to Paris. | |
